Post 6: Time travel to the future

 I think it is a very difficult question for me to answer because there are too many possible scenarios for the future and I don't really have much imagination, besides I don’t usually question things that seem too far aways in order to avoid mental breakdowns for myself.

But thinking about it a little bit more, maybe I would like to travel back in time to the year 2050 and surely here in Chile. The reason for this place is because I have always lived here, so I am very curious to know what will happen. And the choice of that year is because I remember once I heard that in the year 2050 the planet and human life will be very finished, this product of all the pollution and the progressive destruction of the environment that we have carried out during the last years.

It is said that there will not be more drinking water supplies, that climate change will be much worse and that there will be many new diseases. I would like to know if this will really happen because it sounds quite apocalyptic so, i would prefer not to stay here to live.

I would also like to know if in all the time left to reach that year, we humans will do something about it to start changing all this destruction. It could be that destiny will be changed as many people have started to care about the environment lately, however, I also think it's a bit late for this.

Post 5: My Future Job

 

I think I’ve always wanted to have a job that’s connected to people, and more aimed toward helping, it’s for this reason that I decided to study psychology. I’m very passionate about everything that I’ve been taught up to this moment, and I hope I continue in this vein having finished university. I imagine myself working maybe with teenagers, in that case it could be at a school, although I also see myself with my own consulting room.

I’m really not sure of how necessary it is to have an office, working as a psychologist, I think that will depend on the area that we work on. in the case of working at a school, it’s more likely that I will have to count on something like an office, but I think the most important thing is to have the space required for the rest of people to get along naturally, and in that sense an office can push them further, rather than bringing them closer, and in the same way, it must be done in a closed space that offers peace, so it could not be done outdoors, though sure, there are lots of ways to apply psychology, so this is just a general idea.

I’d really like to be able to travel, but this is not entirely necessary in the area that I want to specialize myself in, which is clinical or educational psychology, because I haven’t yet decided. I like these areas because, as I said before, I want to work with teenagers, and I also hope to get involved with people more directly.

Lots of people look sown on psychology because it’s not very profitable, since it’s considered as something that’s easy to study, or simply as people believe that it has no use, but studying it has made me realize that it’s a job that requires a lot of skill.

Post 4: Favourite Movie: Review & Critique.

 

 

Interstellar, a film released in 2014 and directed by Christopher Nolan, tells the story of Joseph Cooper, an ex-NASA pilot, who sees himself forced to work as a farmer in a corn plantation, due to the precarious situation of the planet Earth, where a harmful dust has invaded its surface, and a series of plagues has drastically reduced the amount of food on the planet. So, in a desperate manner, a secret group of astronauts look for a way to make the human race prosper, by taking it to some habitable planet far out of our solar system. Because of this, Cooper will go back to his old profession, and ultimately, become the only hope for humanity.

I consider this movie as one of my personal favorites because, even though it’s a film that touches a plethora of scientific subjects, it also includes a theme that’s not so far-fetched from the reality we see in this day and age, where the carelessness of humanity has put the planet in a critical condition. If we add to that the great dialogues showed, the fact that every scene is filled with beautiful visual content, and we also mention that its third act presents an impressive twist that tackles a polemic subject in the scientific field, such as travelling through a fourth (even a fifth) dimension, it really keeps us spectators on the edge of the seat the whole time during the film.

When I was a child, I became really addicted to television, I liked all the children’s programs of the moment, especially those of the Disney channel and ETC. It was really something that I enjoyed very much.

When I was about four years old, I remember seeing an anime called “Inuyasha”, its theme wasn’t entirely for children, but I loved it because it was very fantastic and romantic. It was broadcasted on the ETC channel in the morning, at approximately 8 am, I even remember my mother telling me “wake up daughter, Inuyasha is about to start” to get me up and take me to the kindergarten, with that I was getting up in a second. Then, on the same channel I started to watch other animes such as Doraemon, Detective Conan and Ashita no Nadja.

When I got a little older, I saw a lot of cartoons more, among my favorites was Kim Possible and Recess on the Disney channel. I don´t remember much more about it, except that I saw them without fail at lunch before I left for school.

The best holiday

 

I think that of all the vacations I have had, the best was in February 2018.  On those vacations we went to Villarrica in the IX region, but we moved around a lot more places. It was the first time I went to the south of Chile. To see so many green landscapes was wonderful. I fell in love with south. We stayed for only one week but we had a good time so that was the best week.

I travelled with my family, that is, my mom, my dad, my elder brother, my grandmother, my uncles and cousins. I like it when I vacation with a big group of people because it’s more fun.

we went to a different place every day, as we went by car it was much easier to move around the different areas and we also took a tour that showed us a beautiful lake (I don’t remember its name). After each day we arrived at the cabin. During the night we played board games as a family or just talked. I like those instances because I usually laugh a lot, I think my family is very funny.

This is a difficult decision because I really think I want to visit many countries but definitely the country that most attract my attention is Thailand. I would like to visit it for its beautiful landscapes and diverse culture.

The truth is that I do not know too much about the country, but I have heard that it has a magnificent ancestral history and culture. It is closely linked to Buddhism, for this reason it has many important temples, I liked it very much because the people say they feel a lot of peace in these places. Also, Thailand is a large and culturally diverse country.

Another of the attractive places there are the markets. where you can find many treasures and exotic food, I love that! I have never tasted Thai food, but it is very famous everywhere so I would like to try it, especially Thai candies.

I don´t know if I could live in another country so I would like to visit it temporarily. But who knows?!
